La puntata di oggi vuole essere un omaggio ad una bravissima artista che ho iniziato a seguire su Instagram: Kirsten Sevig. I suoi acquerelli sono davvero piacevoli da ammirare, vi lascio qui il suo profilo così potete andare a curiosare.
Today  episode would be a tribute to a great artist that I started to follow on Instagram: Kirsten Sevig. Her watercolours paints are lovely, I suggest you to go on her profile and have a look!

Books and Film Collection - Fall Winter 2016-17 Episode #3 - Science Fiction

Bentornati per un nuovo episodio di Books and Film Collection! Il tema di oggi è la Fantascienza; inizialmente avevo scelto un film/libro diverso, ovvero 1984 di Orwell, ma mentre preparavo la nail art ho avuto come un senso di déjà vu e mi sono ricordata di averlo già presentato sul blog!
Ho cambiato quindi scelta in corsa e mi sono orientata verso un filmone che non ha bisogno di presentazioni: Alien. Io di questo film amo soprattutto la figura della protagonista, Ripley, molto moderna e per niente stereotipata. E poi come non amare chi si porta un gatto in giro per lo spazio?
Welcome back for a new episode of  Books and Film Collection!  Today we talk about Science Fiction; I originally chose a different movie / book, 1984 by Orwell, but while I was preparing the nail art I had a sense of déjà vu and I realized that I have already presented it on the blog!
So I changed my choice then and I went towards a great movie that does not need any introduction: Alien. I love this film especially for the figure of the heroine, Ripley, very modern and not at all stereotyped. And how not to love who carries a cat around in the space?

Halloween è passato, ma mi è rimasta voglia di giocare con il colore delle zucche mature... e questo pattern era più che adatto!
Halloween is already passed, but I still have the desire to play with the color of pumpkins ... and this pattern was more than suitable!

Ecco altre foto... questa volta ho messo da parte i colori acrilici e mi sono servita di una stamping plate che pareva perfetta per l'occasione. La stamping plate e lo smalto sono di Mo You Italia mentre lo smalto di base è un vecchio Kiko, il numero 235 meglio noto come Arancio Perlato.
You can see additional pics below. No acrilyc colors for me this time: I created this stamping with Mo You Italy stamping plate and nail polish, on Kiko 235 Pearly Orange base.

In vista di Halloween mi sono lasciata tentare da questa nail art con i teschietti.... non è un amore? Non esattamente portabile in ufficio, ma la sua semplicità la rende versatile anche per una manicure dell'ultimo minuto. Oppure fate finta che siano pois e muovete le mani molto velocemente, così nessuno dei vostri colleghi scoprirà il vostro segreto!
Since Halloween is very near I am introducing this super simply and funny skulls nail art. It's not exactly appropriate for work but since it's very quick you can implement it before your "trick or treat" session without wasting too much time, otherwise all the candies could be sold out!

La ricetta è semplice: base nera e colori acrilici biancho e nero. E il gioco è fatto!

Books and Film Collection - Fall Winter 2016-17 Episode #2 - Horror

Bentornati per un nuovo episodio di Books and Film Collection! Oggi va di scena l'Horror, ed io ho scelto di presentarvi un libro da cui è stato tratto l'omonimo film: It, scritto da Stephen King.
E' un libro che ho letto diverso tempo fa, ma ricordo bene di averlo apprezzato e di averlo trovato molto inquietante... sì perchè alla fine il 'mostro' non risulta essere tanto il pagliaccio deforme Pennywise quanto piuttosto la cattiveria e il menefreghismo della gente, rappresentata in questo caso dalla comunità della cittadina di Derry, nel Maine. Non sto a raccontarvi altro, è un libro che vi consiglio di leggere e non vorrei fare troppe anticipazioni!
Welcome back for a new episode of  Books and Film Collection! Today horror goes on the scene, and I have chosen to present a book which inspired the eponymous film: It, written by Stephen King.
It 'a book I read some time ago, but I remember well that I have enjoyed and found it very disturbing ... yes because in the end the 'monster' do not result being the deformed clown Pennywise but rather the malice and indifference of people, represented in this case by the community of the town of Derry, Maine. I will not tell you more, it's a book that I recommend to read and I would not make too many spoilers!
