Nell'ultima puntata rendiamo omaggio ad uno dei finish più gettonati dell'estate: il Neon. Vediamo subito la definizione (dal sito di Lacquerized):

Per l'occasione ho scelto due neon della Wycon (o Wjcon??) vediamo subito le foto.

Ero molto indecisa tra due nail art e alla fine, non sapendo scegliere.... le ho fatte tutte e due!
La prima è molto "sobria", come mio solito...
I was undecided between two nail art and at the end, not knowing which one to pick .... I made them both!
The first is very "sober", as my usual ...

 La seconda l'ho immaginata fin dal primo momento: partendo da una base bianca mi sono armata di spugnetta e...
I imagined the second one from the first moment: starting from a white base I armed myself with sponge and ...

I am in a monstrous delay, I hope you will forgive me. The week was intense and I find only now a moment to post ... but the important thing is to be here, right?

Su una base così particolare non ho voluto giocare troppo con i colori. Ho preso quindi il bianco acrilico ed ho disegnato un pò di ghirigori... sono i disegni che faccio quando sono al telefono, o quando ascolto qualcosa di noioso... avete presente?
Bhe stavolta ho voluto provare a riprodurli sulle unghie!
On such a gorgeous basis , I did not want to play too much with colors. so I took the white acrylic and I drew some twirls ... are the designs that I do when I'm on the phone, or when I hear something boring ... you know?
Well this time I wanted to try to replicate them on your nails!

 La mia scelta è caduta su un brand brasiliano, Jade. Si tratta del bellissimo Magia Negra, rimasto nella mia WL per tantissimo tempo e finalmente acquistato alla fine dello scorso anno. Ho un debole per gli smalti olografici neri, trovo che abbiano un qualcosa di... magico, appunto!

My choice was from a Brazilian brand, Jade. It's the beautiful Magia Negra, stuck in my WL for a very long time and finally bought at the end of last year. I have a weakness for the black holographic nail polish, I find that they have something ... magical, indeed!

Purtroppo quando ho scattato le foto era già sera così ho dovuto accontentarmi della luce artificiale. L'arcobaleno è comunque visibile però.
Unfortunately, when I took the photos was evening already so I had to use artificial light. The rainbow is however visible though.

Per la nail art sono andata sul semplice, ma stavolta sono riuscita a cogliere un raggio di sole per mostrarvi i riflessi olografici in tutto il loro splendore. La base è Take It Outside di Essie.
For the nail art, I did something very simple, but this time I was able to catch a ray of sunshine to show the holographic reflex in all their glory. The base is Take It Outside by Essie.

A type of finish that purposely has a gritty, bumpy, lumpy and/or other textured appearance.  The texture can feel like anything from leather to rough sandpaper.

 I'm glad to share with you the gorgeous Alcatraz Rocks by OPI.

 Io in genere non apprezzo moltissimo questo tipo di finish... o meglio, mi capita di innamorarmi di un particolare colore, ma poi una volta indossato non riesco a trattenermi e ci metto su due mani di top coat!
A questo proposito vedete sotto le due versioni.... qual'è la vostra preferita?
I generally do not appreciate very much this kind of finish ... well, it happens that I fall in love with a particular color, but then once worn I cannot avoid to put on it two coats of top coat!
In this regard, you can see below the two versions .... which is your favourite?

 

Niente nail art stavolta... ad essere del tutto onesti avevo fatto confusione con i finish e non ero affatto pronta per questa puntata; le più attente noteranno infatti che ho dovuto usare immagini 'di repertorio'. Se ce la faccio renderò il dovuto omaggio a questo smalto nei prossimi giorni!

No nail art this time ... to be completely honest I had mixed up the episodes in my mind and I was not ready for this one; the most attentive will notice that in fact I had to use old images. If I can I will give the tribute to this nail polish over the next few days!

[Finishpedia] episode 20: Thermal

Oggi parliamo di smalti Termici, ovvero quegli smalti che cambiano colore con la temperatura.
Non sono un'appassionata del genere, lo ammetto... per fortuna lo scorso autunno però sono stata lungimirante e mi sono fatta tentare dalla collezione Hello Autumn della Essence. Vi presento quindi Charlie Seen In Green, uno smalto verde chiaro che con il freddo diventa... verde un pochino più scuro.
Grandi effetti speciali, eh?!

Today we talk about Thermal nail polishes, that are those nail polishes that change color with temperature.
I'm not a fan of this kind of nail polishes, I admit it ... luckily last fall I have been inspired and I bought the Hello Autumn collection by Essence. I present to you then Charlie Seen In Green, a light green nail polish that with the cold becomes green ... a little bit darker.
Great special effects, indeed.

Vi pare che avrei potuto indossarlo così, semplicemente?
Ovvio che no! Ecco quindi la mia modesta proposta realizzata con i colori acrilici.

Of course I wasn't able to just wear it alone so I created this very simple nail art using acrylic colors.

[Finishpedia] episode 19: Topper

Posto un pò in ritardo, spero non me ne vogliate... ma l'importante è esserci, giusto?
Oggi parliamo di Topper, ovvero quegli smalti che per definizione si mettono sopra altre basi per dare un effetto speciale. E non potrebbe essere più calzante la definizione per il topper che ho scelto: Fantasy Of Fire di  Max Factor

I am a little late, I hope Iyou don't mind... but the important thing is to be here, right?
Today we talk about Topper, or those nail polishes that by definition you put on another one to give to it a special effect. It could not be more appropriate definition for the topper that I chose: Fantasy Of Fire by Max Factor .

 Questo smalto divenne molto celebre al momento della sua uscita sul mercato perchè pare essere il fratello (se non il gemello) del santo graal delle appassionate di smalto: il Clarins 230, anche detto pipì d'unicorno.
Io non posseggo questa pipì di animale mitologico, ma vi posso dire che questo topper è davvero molto bello.

This nail polish became very famous at the time of its release because it seems to be the brother (if not the twin) of the holy grail of the nail polish addicted: Clarins 230, also called unicorn pee.
I do not possess this mythological animal, but I can tell you that this topper is really very nice.

 Come spesso accade amo accostare a smalti dagli effetti molto speciali dei decori semplici. Ed ecco come ho voluto sfoggiare questo smalto!
As often happens I love the contrast of simple decor on a very special effect nail polish. And this is how I painted this nail polish!

Il finish di oggi è il Magnetic. Vediamo subito la definizione:

Magnetic nail polishes contain iron powder that forms dark, wavy shapes when affected by a magnet.

Analogamente a quanto detto per gli smalti Crackle,anche gli smalti magnetici prendono un pò troppe iniziative per i miei gusti, togliendomi in parte la possibilità di sbizzarrirmi con le nail art. Spesso comunque questi smalti hanno dei colori davvero belli, tanto che finisco per applicarli saltando il passaggio del magnete!
Lo smalto che oggi rappresenta la categoria è Witch You Where Here della Essence.

Similarly to what was said about crackle nail polish, also nail polish a magnetic take too many initiatives for my taste, limiting in part the chance to play around with the nail art. Often, however, their colors are really beautiful, so much so that I end up applying them without the step of the magnet!
The nail polish I am sharing today for this category is Witch You Were Here by Essence.

 

 Il magnete che ho usato è quello della Kiko perchè i magneti essence mi hanno spesso delusa... capita anche a voi? Ed ecco qui gli smalti che ho utilizzato per questa nail art davvero molto semplice:
I used the Kiko magnet because I found that essence ones don't work very well... do you agree?
I used the nail polishes below for a very simple anil art:

Il finish di oggi è il Crackle. Vediamo subito la definizione (dal sito di Peachypolish):

A type of polish that you apply on top of another that dries quickly and shatters as it dries, creating a cracked finish. 

Non amo molto gli smalti che 'fanno da se' la nail art perchè mi tolgono tutto il gusto di pasticciare con i colori, ed infatti posseggo un solo ed unico smalto con questo finish, ovvero il Kiko Rock Top 612.
E' uno smalto assolutamente longevo perchè nonostante sia stato aperto almeno 3 anni fa, fa ancora egregiamente il suo lavoro!

 A type of polish that you apply on top of another that dries quickly and shatters as it dries, creating a cracked finish.  

I do not love the top coat so  much scenographic because they deprive me of all the taste of mess with the nail polishes and create a nail art, and in fact I own only one bottle with finish like this: Kiko Rock Top 612.
It 'a absolutely durable nail polishes because despite having been open at least three years ago, it still does its job very well!

Con questo tipo di finish c'è poco da fare, la nail art va creata sotto.
Quindi vi mostro un piccolo esperimento che ho voluto fare con una base abbozzata con i colori acrilici:
With this kind of nail polish you have to create a base for the nail art, as I did applying some random acrylic colors:

 

Bel cambiamento eh?
