Non ci crederete ma avevo questo post pronto già dal 14 sera... ci tenevo ad essere puntuale, ma poi tra una cosa ed un'altra sono riuscita a pubblicarlo solo oggi. Eh vabbè.... cercherò di recuperare il prossimo mese.
Ho amato moltissimo questa nail art: è divertente da fare e molto soddisfacente da indossare. Sicuramente proverò a cimentarmi nuovamente in qualcosa di simile, magari invertendo i finish (base crema e holo per i triangoli) in modo che sia un briciolo più sobria e portabile anche in ufficio... anche se oramai i miei confini di cosa sia appropriato o meno per i luoghi di lavoro sono decisamente molto in là... per fortuna oramai mi conoscono e si sono tutti rassegnati!
You won't believe... I had this post ready since the 14th of this month but I wasn't able to write a couple of words till now! I'm sorry, sometimes the life is just a bit busy and I have to accept it. I'll try to be more in time next month, I promise!
I liked this nail art a LOT. For sure I'll try to recreate a similar one in order to wear it also at work.... I am thinking about invert the finishes: using the creme as base and the holo for details probably the result will be less... flashing!

Bentornati al nostro appuntamento con gli smalti e con la musica: Dark Winter Songs!
Oggi parliamo di musica elettronica; io non sono un'appassionata del genere, ma gironzolando per il web alla ricerca di un'ispirazione sono incappata in un pezzo a dir poco antico che all'epoca mi aveva colpito molto.
Era il 1997 e il gruppo musicale The Prodigy scriveva Breathe, un pezzo sincopato e a tratti inquietante che rappresenta un ottimo esempio del genere che trattiamo in questa puntata.

Welcome back to our appointment with nail polishes and with music: Dark Winter Songs!
Today we talk about electronic music; I'm not a fan of this kind of music, but searching on the web for an inspiration I stumbled upon an ancient piece that at that time that had impressed me a lot.
It was 1997 and the musical group The Prodigy wrote Breathe, a syncopated and sometimes disturbing song that represents an excellent example of the kind of music that we discuss in this episode.

Esatto, ho scelto proprio di usare i colori dei capelli di Keith Flint per la mia nail art.

Holothon 2015 - Recap

Buon venerdì a tutti!
Prima di accogliere la nuova stagione, consentitemi un ultimo sguardo nostalgico all'estate appena trascorsa. Poi vi prometto che sarò pronta a festeggiare l'autunno come si merita!

Holothon 2015 Episode 14: Stamping with A-England Briarwood

Buon venerdì  bentornate alla Holothon! Questa è l'ultima puntata, purtroppo... insieme agli smalti holografici salutiamo l'estate. Santo cielo, detto così suona davvero malinconico, provo a riformulare: salutiamo degnamente l'estate con l'ultima puntata della Holothon, ma non temete, insieme all'autunno arriveranno altre sfavillanti novità! Meglio?

Finally the weekend is arrived! And friday means  Holothon! This is the last episode, unfortunately, but do not worry, autumn  will come together with new initiatives! 

 

Per questa puntata ho scelto uno smalto della A-England:  Briarwood. E dato che sono nel mio periodo stamping, secondo voi potevo trattenermi dal testarlo sotto questo punto di vista?

For this episode, I chose an A-England nail polish: Briarwood. And since I'm in my stamping period, do you think I could avoid to test it under this point of view?

Condivido quindi con piacere il risultato del mio esperimento. Dopo aver applicato una base nude (OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons) ho applicato Briarwood con la tecnica dello stamping utilizzando la plate Bridal Collection 07 di Mo-You.
So, I'm glad to share the result of my experiment. You can see here a stamping made on a nude base (OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons) useng a Mo-You plate (Bridal Collection 07).

Holothon 2015 Episode 13: Moyra Holographic 251 Sirius

Buon venerdì  bentornate alla Holothon!
Finally the weekend is arrived! And friday means  Holothon!

Dopo aver visto quanto valido era il Moyra 253 con lo stamping, ho iniziato a guardare con altri occhi l'altro smalto della collezione che posseggo. E di lì a provarlo sul campo il passo è stato breve!
After seeing how good was Moyra 253 with stamping, I started to look with new eyes the other nail polish from the same collection I have. And I wanted to try it out immediately!

Detto fatto, eccovi qui il Moyra Holographic 251 Sirius che da bella mostra delle sue capacità su base nera. Che ne dite, promosso?

Sooner said than done, here you can see Moyra Holographic 251 Sirius that shows its capability on a black base. Do you think it is good enough?

Is Moyra 254 good for stamping?

Come anticipato venerdì, eccoci qui a toccare con mano le capacità dello smalto Moyra 254 alle prese con lo stamping. Non ero molto convinta inizialmente, ma ho dovuto ricredermi in fretta!
As anticipated on Friday, here I am to test Moyra 254 with stamping. I was not confident at first, but I had to change my mind very quickly!

Come vedete il tratto è molto nitido e risalta benissimo sulla base nera.
As you can see the outline is very clear and stands out perfectly on black base.

L'unico rimpianto è non essere riuscita a fotografarlo alla luce solare... ma come vedete fa il suo bell'effetto anche con la luce artificiale.
The only regret is not being able to photograph it under sunlight ... but as you can see is very nice even under artificial lighting.

Che ne dite? Promosso?

Come ho potuto scordarmi di questo gioiellino?
Ero convinta di aver finito gli holo in mio possesso, ma sbagliavo, eccome!

How can I forget this tiny jewel? I thought that my holos were finished, but I was SO wrong!

Sono lieta di mostrarvi il bellissimo Moyra 254, uno smalto olografico azzurro dai riflessi super intensi. E' molto coprente (nelle foto vedete due passate senza top coat) e ovviamente dà il suo meglio sotto la luce solare. Per definirlo perfetto manca solo di testarlo con lo stamping. Prometto che scioglierò questo dubbio molto presto, rimanete sintonizzati!
 I am glad to show you Moyra 254, a fantastic blue holographic polish. You can see here two thin coats without top coat. This nail polish is fantastic and very intense (especially under direct sunlight)... to define it "perfect" we only have to try it as stamping polish.... and I'm glad to say that I'll do this test very soon. Stay tuned!

Stamping with Mi-Ny Brown

Salve gente!
Dopo aver provato ad usare il Mi-Ny Brown come base, ho deciso di metterlo alla prova con lo stamping.
I risultati sono stati molto migliori delle aspettative...

After trying to use Mi-Ny Brown  as a base, I decided to test it with stamping itself.
The results were much better than expected ...

Come vedete la sagoma è netta, anche con un disegno così intricato(Mo You Bridal Collection 07). Nessuna sbavatura, nessun incidente di percorso: davvero perfetto.
As you can see the silhouette is clear, even with a so intricate design (Mo You Bridal Collection 07). No printing imperfection, no issues: perfect.

Se vi sono piaciute le foto alla luce artificiale credo che apprezzerete ancora di più la resa sotto la luce naturale!
If you liked the pictures taken with artificial light, I believe that you will appreciate even more the performance under natural light!

Qual'è il vostro smalto preferito per lo stamping? Prediligete gli smalti monocolore o preferite gli olografici?

Holothon 2015 Episode 11: Depend 335

 Buon venerdì  bentornate alla Holothon!
Finally the weekend is arrived! And friday means  Holothon!

 Lo so, lo so. Sto raschiando il barile.E' che non voglio farvi vedere degli smalti già comparsi su questo blog, ma questa estate non so come mai gli smalti holo in giro scarseggiano e sto aspettando settembre (e le collezioni autunnali) per fare un ordine on line. Quindi portate pazienza, e siate indulgenti!

Depend 335 è una base trasparente (indossata su mutanda nera) piena di glitter esagonali di due diverse grandezze dai riflessi olografici. Quelle che vedete sulle foto sono due passate. Si stende bene, asciuga in fretta, sbrilluccica... fa il suo lavoro, insomma.Ma è uno smalto glitterato. La mia kriptonite insomma!  

I know, I know. I'm scraping the barrel. the fact is that I do not want to show you nail polishes already appeared on this blog, but this summer, I do not know why, the holo nail polishes around are scarce and I'm waiting for September (and the fall collections) to make an online order. So please be patient, and be indulgent!

Depend 335 is a transparent base (worn on a black base) filled with hexagonal glitter in  two different sizes with holographic touch. What you see on the pictures are two coats. It is easy to apply, it dries quickly, it shines ... it does its job, in other words. But it is a nail polish glitter. My kryptonite indeed!

Stamping on Mi-Ny Brown

Salve a tutti e buon lunedì, soprattutto a tutti coloro che -come la sottoscritta- oggi sono tornati al lavoro.
Per iniziare la settimana nel modo giusto vi mostro lo stamping che ho abbinato allo smalto dello scorso post, colto in un momento in cui il cielo era meno nuvoloso del solito.
Hello everyone and good Monday, especially to all those who - like myself - are today back to work.
To start the week in the right way I show you the stamping that I matched with the nail polish seen in the last post, caught in a moment when the sky was less cloudy than usual.

 

La plate è della Mo You (Pro XL Plate Collection 21) e lo smalto usato per lo stamping è quello della Essence, che pur essendo economico, fa bene il suo lavoro!

 The stamping plate is Pro XL Plate Collection 21 by Mo You and the stamping polish is the Black by Essence, cheap but very good!

Vi mostro anche le foto della base... domenica è spuntato un pò di sole e mi sono messa lo smalto al volo per immortalarne finalmente la sbrilluccicanza!

I show you also some pics of the base ... on Sunday some sun popped out so I wear the nail polish on the fly to immortalize its shine!

Holothon 2015 Episode 10: Mi-Ny 5 Brown

Buon venerdì  bentornate alla Holothon!
Lo sapete che ho i poteri magici? Ebbene sì, ogni volta che indosso uno smalto olografico il cielo si rannuvola ed inizia a piovere. E' per questo che ho saltato buona parte degli scorsi episodi... per non rovinarvi le vacanze! Ed oggi... contravvenendo ad ogni buon principio ho voluto ritentare quello che avevo provato lo scorso week end senza successo, ovvero provare a fotografare il bellissimo Brown della Mi-Ny.
Risultato? Una corsa disperata per salvare il bucato da un improvviso ed inatteso diluvio. Che dire? Io ci ho provato! Spero di riuscire a pubblicare delle foto che gli rendano giustizia prima o poi... ma per adesso vi mostro quel poco che sono riuscita a catturare.

Do you know that I have magical powers? Yes, every time I wear a holographic nail polish the sky clouds over and it starts to rain. This is why I skipped most of the recent episodes ... to do not ruin the holidays to you! But today ... in contravention of every good principle I wanted to try again what I tried last weekend without success,  photographing the beautiful Brown by Mi-Ny.
Result? A desperate race to save the laundry by a sudden and unexpected flood. What to say? I tried! I hope to publish photos that do justice sooner or later ... but for now I show you the little that I managed to capture.

Devo dire che questo smalto mi ha subito conquistata, anche senza luce solare diretta. Voi che ne dite?

Ah, giusto per la cronaca... proprio adesso che oramai ho tolto tutto e che è troppo tardi.... sta tornando il sole!
