Ed eccoci infine giunti all'Epifania, che tutte le feste si porta via.... avete già sfatto l'albero? Io mi cimenterò stasera in questa operazione un pò malinconica ma necessaria: per me non c'è niente di peggio che vedere in giro gli addobbi dopo befana. E voi cosa ne pensate?

BirthFlowers Challenge #10 October - Calendula

Buon lunedì a bentornate all'appuntamento mensile con la BirthFlowers! Il fiore di ottobre è la Calendula e debbo ammettere che prima di questa settimana non sapevo bene che aspetto avesse. Dopo averla cercata però è stato amore a prima vista! Avevo proprio voglia di una nail art dai colori accesi e il contrasto tra arancione e verde mi ha subito conquistata.

The October flower is the Calendula and I must admit that before this week I was not sure about how this flower was. After the research, however, I fell in love with it at first sight! I was really in the right mood for a nail art in bright colors and I was immediately captured by the contrast between orange and green.

Pattern super estivo oggi, scelto dalla mia smalto-amica Gold Francine!
A very summer pattern today, proposed by my blog-friend Gold Francine!

 Per realizzare queste succose fette di cocomero ho usato i colori acrilici sopra una base rossa (Essie Dress To Kilt). Unico accorgimento: per far risaltare bene il verde ho dipinto le bucce d'anguria in bianco, per poi passare il colore finale.
Vi piace il risultato finale? A me ha fatto subito venir voglia di mangiare una bella fetta di cocomero!
To paint these juicy slices of watermelon I used acrylic colors on a red base (Essie Dress to Kilt). Just a trick: to bring out the green I painted the skins of watermelon in white and then I moved on the final color.
Do you like the end result? It immediately made me want to eat a slice of watermelon!

Il pattern di oggi è floreale, come potete vedere. Io adoro andare in giro con i fiori disegnati sulle mie unghie, e forse quando sono stilizzati come in questo caso mi piacciono ancora di più!
The pattern of today is floral, as you can see. I love so much to go around with drawn flowers on my nails, and perhaps when they are stylized as in this case I like them even more!

La realizzazione è abbastanza semplice: basta creare sulla base blu delle macchie di colore irregolari con un dotter a punta larga. A questo punto si aggiunge un pallino più chiaro al centro di ogni fiore e si disegnano dei piccoli puntini neri. Io ho usato smalti in quasi tutti i passaggi, tranne l'ultimo in cui ho preferito i colori acrilici.
The realization is quite simple: just create on the blue base some irregular colored spots with a dotter. At this point you can add a smaller and lighter dot in the center of each flower and then draw small black dots. I used nail polishes in almost all steps, except the last one in which I preferred acrylic colors.

[Finishpedia] episode 20: Thermal

Bentornate alla Finishpedia!
Oggi parliamo di smalti Termici, ovvero quegli smalti che cambiano colore con la temperatura.
Non sono un'appassionata del genere, lo ammetto... per fortuna lo scorso autunno però sono stata lungimirante e mi sono fatta tentare dalla collezione Hello Autumn della Essence. Vi presento quindi Charlie Seen In Green, uno smalto verde chiaro che con il freddo diventa... verde un pochino più scuro.
Grandi effetti speciali, eh?!

Welcome back to Finishpedia!
Today we talk about Thermal nail polishes, that are those nail polishes that change color with temperature.
I'm not a fan of this kind of nail polishes, I admit it ... luckily last fall I have been inspired and I bought the Hello Autumn collection by Essence. I present to you then Charlie Seen In Green, a light green nail polish that with the cold becomes green ... a little bit darker.
Great special effects, indeed.

Vi pare che avrei potuto indossarlo così, semplicemente?
Ovvio che no! Ecco quindi la mia modesta proposta realizzata con i colori acrilici.

Of course I wasn't able to just wear it alone so I created this very simple nail art using acrylic colors.

Glitter is one of most flashiest finishes. These glitters are often put in a jelly base. The amount of glitter can vary a lot. Sometimes you'll need top coat to smoothen the surface.

Se mi conoscete anche solo un minimo sapete quanto mi risulti indigesto questo finish.... ma per amore della Finishpedia si fa questo ed altro!
Vi presento quindi uno dei pochi smalti Glitter in mio possesso: Essence “Blue Addicted”.

La cosa che odio di più degli smalti glitterati è la rimozione. E' vero che ora come ora esistono le basi peel off, ma ancora non ne ho trovata una che mi soddisfi. I suggerimenti sono ben accetti!
Ovviamente non potevo indossarlo da solo... ecco gli smalti che ho usato per questa nail art:
The thing that I hate most is the removal of glitter nail polishes. It's true that right now there are several peel off bases, but I still have not found one that satisfies me. Suggestions are welcome!

Buon venerdì e bentornate alla Finishpedia!
Il finish di oggi è il Magnetic. Vediamo subito la definizione:

Magnetic nail polishes contain iron powder that forms dark, wavy shapes when affected by a magnet.

Analogamente a quanto detto per gli smalti Crackle,anche gli smalti magnetici prendono un pò troppe iniziative per i miei gusti, togliendomi in parte la possibilità di sbizzarrirmi con le nail art. Spesso comunque questi smalti hanno dei colori davvero belli, tanto che finisco per applicarli saltando il passaggio del magnete!
Lo smalto che oggi rappresenta la categoria è Witch You Where Here della Essence.

Similarly to what was said about crackle nail polish, also nail polish a magnetic take too many initiatives for my taste, limiting in part the chance to play around with the nail art. Often, however, their colors are really beautiful, so much so that I end up applying them without the step of the magnet!
The nail polish I am sharing today for this category is Witch You Were Here by Essence.

 

 Il magnete che ho usato è quello della Kiko perchè i magneti essence mi hanno spesso delusa... capita anche a voi? Ed ecco qui gli smalti che ho utilizzato per questa nail art davvero molto semplice:
I used the Kiko magnet because I found that essence ones don't work very well... do you agree?
I used the nail polishes below for a very simple anil art:

Il pattern di oggi è un'altra dotticure... si vede che ho un debole per questo genere?
Ad essere onesta non sono soddisfattissima del risultato, forse i dots non sono venuti fuori regolari quanto avrei voluto.

Today pattern is another dotticure! I loike this kind of nail art very much as you can suppose.
To be honest I am not totally satisfied of how the nail art turned off... maybe I have to try to recreate it with more regular dots some day!

Spero che possa piacervi comunque, è stato divertente crearla!
