[Finishpedia] episode 14: Glass Flecked

Il finish di oggi è il Glass Flecked. Vediamo subito la definizione (dal sito di Lacquerized):

Glass flecked polishes look like they contain small glass particles, often mixed in a jelly base. The finish is very smooth, yet sparkly.

Per fortuna stavolta avevo un degno esponente della categoria! Sto parlando del bellissimo Indian Ocean di Models Own, uno degli smalti che amo di più.

 Glass flecked polishes look like they contain small glass particles, often mixed in a jelly base. The finish is very smooth, yet sparkly.

Thankfully this time I had a worthy exponent of the category! I'm talking about the beautiful Indian Ocean by Models Own, one of the nail polishes that I love most. 

Indian Ocean (mai nome fu più appropriato)è uno smalto poco coprente ma dai colori magnifici: la base è un azzurro delicato e le particelle virano dal rosa al giallo passando dal blu. Unico neo è appunto la coprenza.... avrete bisogno di almeno 4 passate se volete usarlo da solo.
In questo caso invece  voluto esaltare i toni delicati di questo smalto applicandolo su una base bianca. Mi è sembrato peraltro un momento perfetto per provare la mia nuova stamping plate di Mo You.

Indian Ocean (the name could not be more appropriate) is a sheer nail polish but with magnificent colors: the base is a delicate blue and particles shift from pink to yellow passing trough blue. Only drawback is precisely the coverage .... you'll need at least 4 coats if you want to use it alone.
In this case I wanted to enhance the delicate tones applying it on a white base. It seemed, however, a perfect time to try out my new Mo You stamping plate.

Vi piace lo stamping effetto pizzo? A me un sacco! 

 Do you like the  lace effect stamping? Personally I like it a lot!

Winter Garden - #3 - Inspired by a Sport (Swimming Pool)

Buon venerdì e bentornati nel nostro Giardino D'Inverno!
Il tema di oggi è lo sport e come al solito le opzioni sono:

• presentare uno smalto nei finish previsti (matte, satin, suede e textured/liquid sand/sugar senza glitter)
• realizzare una nail art che contenga almeno uno smalto nei finish di cui sopra

Ovviamente ho scelto la seconda!

Today's theme is 'Sports' and as usual, the options are:

• swatch a nail polish with matte, satin, suede and textured / liquid sand / sugar without glitter finish
• create a nail art that contains at least one finish listed above

Obviously I chose the latter!

 
Vi state chiedendo cosa diamine raffiguri lo scarabocchio che ho realizzato, vero?
Bhe intanto ho usato:

Well I start to say that I used:

Bhe dovete sapere che da circa un anno ho riscoperto una passione: il nuoto.
Ed ero proprio in piscina mentre riflettevo sul tema di oggi... così ho deciso di prendere spunto proprio dalla mia passione. La nail art di oggi vorrebbe ispirarsi alla foto di cui sotto:

Well, about a year ago I discovered a passion: swimming.
And I was right in the pool as I reflected on the today theme ... so I decided to take a cue from my passion. The nail art would be inspired by the picture below:

 

L'azzurro rappresenta il fondo della piscina, le righe blu sarebbero le guide (se notate su pollice e mignolo ci sono i segni a T caratteristici che indicano la fine di una corsia) e le striature bianche sarebbero i riflessi dell'acqua. Il tutto opacizzato con il top coat. E i pallini lucidi rossi e arancioni? Le delimitazioni delle corsie! Sono lucide perchè fuori dall'acqua!...

Adesso si capisce?............... no eh?.... vabbè diciamo che è una nail art astratta, ok? :-D

The azure represents the bottom of the pool, the blue lines would be the guides (if you notice on the thumb and little finger we have the characteristic T signs that indicates the end of a lane) and the white stripes would be the reflections of the water. I matted everything with the top coat. And the red and orange shiny dots? The boundaries of the wards! They are shiny because they are out of the water! ...

Now you understand? ............... no ? .... oh well ...it is an abstract nail art, okay? :-D

Buongiorno e benvenuti al nuovo appuntamento fisso del venerdì!
Vi mancava la Battaglia dei Pianeti (a me sì!)? Bhe allora  non dubito che sarete felici di entrare nel nostro Giardino D'Inverno.
Promotrice dell'idea la nostra instancabile Gold Francine, ma hanno partecipato un pò tutte con idee, ritocco delle foto e chi più ne ha più ne metta!

Hello and welcome to the new Friday event!
Do you miss the Battle of the Planets (I do!)? Well then I have no doubt that you will be happy to join our Winter Garden.
The promoter of the idea is our tireless  Gold Francine , but all of us participated with ideas, photo retouching and support!

Per aggiungere un pò di sfida abbiamo pensato di realizzare delle nail art (facoltative) a tema con almeno uno smalto nei finish richiesti.

To add a bit of challenging, we decided to realize a (optional) themed nail art  with at least one finish included in the list.

Il tema di oggi è appunto l'Inverno ed io ho scelto di ispirami all'immagine che vedete sotto:

Il risultato è questo, che ne dite? Mi piace l'effetto 'in rilievo' del sugar mat che fa saltare le bacche fuori dal disegno, voi cosa ne pensate?

The result is below, what do you think? I like the effect of 'relif' given by sugar mat, that makes the berries jump out of the picture!

 Ehiii! Buon Natale a tutti!

Post molto breve, perchè -come per tutti- oggi è una giornata abbastanza piena... io vi auguro di passarla con le persone che preferite (o perlomeno con alcune di loro :-D ) e soprattutto di ricevere un sacco di bellissimi smalti sotto l'albero!

Post very short, because - as for all - today is a very, very full day ... I wish you to spend it with people you like (or at least with some of them :-D ) and especially to receive a lot of beautiful nail polishes under the Christmas tree!

A proposito di albero, ecco come ho ricreato su una base verde un simil-abete con gli acrilici, per poi passare alle decorazioni.

Talking about tree... here's how I recreated with acrylics a fir tree on a green base.
