Quanto mi mancavano le mie smalto amiche? Parecchio.
Ma con l'arrivo dell'autunno e delle giornate che si fanno più corte e fredde abbiamo scoperto una passione comune: quella di starsene rannicchiate sul divano, magari sotto una copertina, e divorare libri e film come se non ci fosse un domani!
Ed ecco in poche parole come è nata la twinsie che ci accompagnerà ogni due settimane nei weekend autunnali ed invernali, fino alla primavera: ogni appuntamento è dedicato ad un genere e ciascuna di noi avrà il piacere di condividere un libro o un film con relativa nail art o smalto ispirato all'opera che avrà deciso di presentare.

How much I missed my nail polish friends? Quite a lot.
But with the arrival of autumn we discovered a common passion: to sit curled up on the couch, perhaps under a cover, reading books and watching movies like there's no tomorrow!
And here in a few words how the twinsie works: it will accompany us every two weeks during autumn and winter weekends, until the spring. Each post is dedicated to a genre, and each of us will have the pleasure of sharing a book or a movie with a nail polish or nail art inspired by the work that will have decided to present.

Ma veniamo al dunque: questa settimana parliamo delle storie d'amore, un genere su cui non sono proprio ferratissima. Quando ho iniziato a pensarci mi è venuto in mente un libro che ho amato molto quando ero una ragazzina:
Un ponte sull'Eternità, di Richard Bach (quello de Il gabbiano Jonathan Livingston). Non so bene che effetto mi farebbe rileggerlo oggi, ma al tempo mi colpì molto: è il racconto autobiografico della storia d'amore tra Richard Bach e Leslie Parrish e di come due individualità possano formare una coppia senza perdere nulla di se stessi, ma anzi evolvendo e migliorando anche come individui.
Di seguito una frase tratta dal libro:
[...] è possibile che
due persone cambino insieme, crescano insieme e si arricchiscano anziché
impoverirsi a vicenda. La somma di uno più uno, se essi sono quelli giusti, può essere l’infinità. Ma spesso una
persona trascina l’altra verso il basso; una persona vuole salirsi come un
pallone e l’altra è un peso morto. Mi sono sempre chiesta come andrebbero le cose e se entrambi, l'uomo e la donna, volessero salir su come
palloni tutt’e due?
La nail art è ispirata alla copertina del libro ed è una semplice galaxy:

But when I started to think I came up with a book that I loved very much when I was a kid: The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story, by Richard Bach (the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull). I do not know what could happen if I would read it again today, but at the time I was struck: it is the autobiographical story of the love affair between Richard Bach and Leslie Parrish and talks of how two individuality can form a pair without losing anything of themselves, and evolving and also improving as individuals.
Here is a quote from the book:
[...] I think it's possible for two people to change together,
to grow together and enrich instead of diminish each other. The sum of one and
one, if they're the right ones, can be infinity! But so often one person drags
the other down; one person wants to go up like a balloon and the other's a
dead weight. I've always wondered what it would be like if both people, if a
woman and a man both wanted to go up like balloons!
