Winter Garden - #10 - Floral Motifs

Buongiorno a tutti! Ho il privilegio di darvi il benvenuto per l'ultima volta nel nostro Giardino D'Inverno. Prima di entrare nel merito del tema di oggi vorrei ringraziare Gold Francine per questa bellissima iniziativa e soprattutto per essere un vulcano di idee!
Il tema di oggi è stato proprosto da Silvia e strizza l'occhio alla primavera imminente: Motivi Floreali.
Ecco il disegno a cui mi sono ispirata:

Hello everyone! I have the privilege to welcome you for the last time in our Winter Garden. Before talking about the today nail art, I would like to thank Francine Gold for this wonderful initiative!
Today's theme was proposed by Silvia and winks at the upcoming spring: Floral Designs.
Here's the design that I was inspired by:

Winter Garden - #9 - Favourite Book (1984)

Maremma, ma è già venerdì? Questa settimana è volata... bene, bene, solo un attimo e vi accolgo nel nostro Giardino d'Inverno! Il tema di oggi è stato proposto da Sara ed è ispirato al libro preferito.
Inutile dire che mi ha dato un ottimo pretesto per pasticciare un pò con i colori!

OMG, is already Friday? This week has passed really fast ... well, well, just a moment and I'll welcome you in our Winter Garden! Today's theme was proposed by Sara and it is inspired by our favorite book.
Needless to say, this gave me a great excuse to mess around with colors!

La scelta non è stata semplicissima anche perchè non credo di avere IL libro preferito ma, un pò come tutti suppongo, una serie di libri che abbiamo amato o che ci sono rimasti particolarmente impressi... armata di 4 o 5 titoli mi sono quindi messa a cercare una copertina che mi ispirasse per la nail art e la mia indecisione è terminata quando mi sono imbattuta in questa:

The choice was not easy also because I do not have one favorite book but many! Armed with 4 or 5 of my favorite titles I then started to look for a cover that inspired me for the nail art... my indecision finished when I came across this:

Il libro è ovviamente l'inossidabile e attualissimo '1984' di Orwell... ma l'opera di cui sopra (tratta da questo contest) oltre ad essere - a mio parere - bellissima e davvero calzante, porta l'attenzione su una vecchia diatriba. Pare infatti che l'opera di Orwell sia stata molto molto influenzata dai racconti di Herbert George Wells, come si argomenta in questo articolo. Sarà vero? Voi ne avevate sentito parlare?

The book is the beautiful and always actual '1984 ' by Orwell ... but the work above (taken from this contest) in addition to being - in my opinion - really beautiful and fitting to the book, brings attention to an old debate . It appears that Orwell's work has been very much influenced by the stories of HG Wells, as is argued in this article. Is it true? Have you ever heard something about this?

Per quanto concerne la nail art, ho semplicemente cercato di riprodurre l'immagine a cui mi sono ispirata usando gli smalti. Ho voluto accentuare lo sfondo marrone opacizzandolo, in modo che le sagome degli uomini risaltassero di più, ma non so se si nota molto in foto.
Ad ogni modo... questo è il mio contributo. Spero che vi piaccia!

Talking about the nail art, I just tried to reproduce the image that inspired me using nail polishes. I wanted to accentuate the brown background making it matte, so that the shapes of the men stood out more, but I do not know you can notice it much in the pics.
Anyway ... this is my contribution. Hope you like it!

Winter Garden - #8 - Carnival Desserts

Buongiorno e buon venerdì, anche se qui da me sta piovendo a catinelle, sigh... per fortuna che posso invitarvi al riparo nel nostro Giardino d'Inverno ed offrirvi un pò di dolci di carnevale (che se non si fosse capito è il tema di oggi, proposto dalla nostra sfavillante Gold Francine ).

La mia scelta è ricaduta su due dolci tipici delle mie zone:

•  Il Berlingozzo, tipico di Lamporecchio, patria dei famosi Brigidini
• La Schiacciata alla Fiorentina

Hello and Good Friday, although here it's raining cats and dogs, sigh ... luckily I can invite you in our Winter Garden to sheltered from the rain and I can offer you a bit of carnival desserts (which is today's theme, proposed by our dearest Gold Francine).
My choice fell on two typical cakes from tuscany:

•  Il Berlingozzo, from Lamporecchio
• The Schiacciata alla Fiorentina

Per la nail art ho provato a riprodurre i due dolci: e qui mi avvalgo di una postilla del regolamento... infatti la nail art deve contenere almeno uno smalto del finish giusto. Ed io ho scelto di decorare il mio dolce con delle palline argentate (tipo confettini) usando il Sephora Bling Bling.
Scusate ma ero davvero alla frutta e l'opaco non sapevo dove infilarlo!
Mi volete bene lo stesso? A chi risponde di sì doppia razione di dolce!

For the nail art I tried to reproduce the two cakes: and here I used a footnote from the regulation ... In fact, the nail art must contain at least one nail polish with opaque finish. And I chose to decorate my cake with silver balls (like sprinkles) using the Sephora Bling Bling.
Excuse me but I was really in trouble and did not know where the opaque should fit in this nail art!
You love me anyway? Who says yes can have a double portion of cake!

Winter Garden - #7 - Geometric Motifs

Buongiorno gente!
E' venerdì: vi do quindi il benvenuto nel nostro Giardino d'Inverno. Il tema di oggi è stato proposto da Silvia e sono i motivi geometrici. Molto interessante!
Il problema è che questa settimana ho avuto pochissimo tempo e mi sono ridotta a fare questa nail art ieri sera alle nove e mezza... Il che non sarebbe un grande problema sennonché nel mezzo è capitato un pò di tutto, tra cui una bella perdita d'acqua in bagno proprio prima di procedere alle foto.
Ovviamente poi le foto le ho fatte di corsa e la nail art si era un pò sciupata... spero vi piaccia lo stesso!

Comunque il concetto è:

• base marrone opacizzata
• triangoli e rettangoli lucidi a contrasto

Giuro che nella mia testa era bellissima! ;-)

It 'Friday: let me welcome you in our Winter Garden. Today's theme was proposed by Silvia and it is inspired by Geometric Motifs. Very interesting!
The problem is that this week I had no time at all to work on it. I was reduced to do this nail art yesterday at half past nine ... That would not be a big problem, except that in the middle happened a little bit of everything, including a great loss water in the bathroom just before the photos.
Obviously then it was very late so I made the photos in a hurry and nail art was a bit worn out ... I hope you like it anyway!

However, the concept is:

• matte brown base
• shiny triangles and rectangles in contrast

I swear you that  in my mind the idea was beautiful! ;-)

Winter Garden - #6 - Winter Garden ( Valentine's Day)

Buongiorno, buon venerdì e buon San Valentino!

L'appuntamento settimanale nel nostro Giardino d'Inverno oggi è stato proposto da Natalia ed è ispirato a San Valentino, la festa degli innamorati.

Personalmente non amo moltissimo questa ricorrenza perchè ne vedo sopratutto il lato biecamente commerciale, ed in effetti è proprio da quello che ho preso spunto per la mia nail art!
Cosa c'è infatti di più tradizionale (e commerciale) di un Bacio Perugina?

Good morning, Good Friday and Happy Valentine's Day!
The weekly appointmen theme in our Winter Garden was today proposed by Natalia and it is inspired by Valentine's Day.
Personally I do not like very much this event because I especially see the commercial grimly side; and to be consistent with my point of view, my nail art this was inspired by this commercial side!
What is indeed more traditional (and commercial) of a Bacio Perugina?

Per una volta tanto ho usato uno smalto dal finish giusto e non mi sono dovuta avvalere di top coat opacizzante (Gold Francine, sei fiera di me???):

• Sephora Bling Bling
• Colori Acrilici

For once I used a correct nail polish finish and I did not need a matte top coat (Gold Francine, are you proud of me?):

• Sephora Bling Bling
• Acrylic Colors

A me questa nail art è piaciuta un sacco soprattutto perchè dal vivo lo smalto rendeva moltissimo l'idea della cartina del cioccolatino. Voi che ne dite? Cosa pensate di San Valentino? Amate cuoricini e affini o avete un'anima più pragamatica?

I liked this nail art a lot, especially because the nail polish made perfectly the idea of the praline wrapper. What do you think? What do you think of Valentine's Day? You love hearts and similar or you are pragmatic like me?

Winter Garden - #5 - Winter Garden (Klimt Art)

Buongiorno e buon venerdì!
Il nostro giardino d'inverno apre le porte oggi ad un pittore a me particolarmente caro e il cui stile trovo molto adatto ad ispirare una nail art.
Parliamo nientepopodimeno di Gustav Klimt!

L'opera a cui ho voluto ispirarmi è una rivisitazione de 'L'albero della vita', bellissimo fregio realizzato per il Palazzo Stoclet. Ecco l'immagine a cui mi sono ispirata, l'opera originale è piuttosto famosa e non sto a mettere qui le foto, ma se volete rifarvi gli occhi con un ripassino, cliccate qui.

Hello and Good Friday!
Our winter garden opens its doors today to a painter especially dear to me, and whose style I find very suitable to inspire a nail art.
We are talking about none other than Gustav Klimt!!

The work to which I wanted to inspire is a remake of 'The Tree of Life', the gorgeous frieze for the Stoclet Palace. Above you can find the picture that I was inspired by; the original work is really famous so I'm not putting here the pictures, but if you want to see it again, click here.

Sulla nail art, poco da dire... ho steso una base nera e l'ho opacizzata e poi mi sono munita di micro pennello ed ho tentato di riprodurre il tema scelto con lo smalto dorato.

About nail art, not much to say ... I started with a matted black base and then using a micro brush I tried to reproduce the theme chosen using a golden nail polish.

Ho anche provato a riprodurre la celebre firma sul pollice, che dite? Sono una buona falsaria? :-D
I also tried to reproduce the famous signature on the thumb, what do you think? Am I a good forger? :-D

Winter Garden - #4 - Winter Garden (Crocuses)

Buongiorno e bentornati nel nostro Giardino D'Inverno!
Riassumo brevemente le regole:

• presentare uno smalto nei finish previsti (matte, satin, suede e textured/liquid sand/sugar senza glitter)
• realizzare una nail art che contenga almeno uno smalto nei finish di cui sopra

Come al solito ho scelto la seconda... speriamo che vi piaccia perchè la sfida è stata dura.
Il tema di oggi infatti, proposto da Sara, è proprio ... il giardino d'inverno!
Ho iniziato quindi chiedendomi cosa diamine ci fosse in un giardino, d'inverno.

• La neve. Sì ok.. ma non posso fare una passata bianca e via!
• Sterpi secchi. Non mi pare il caso.
• Erbacce? Lasciamo perdere.
• Alberi senza foglie?... già meglio ma no... ecco cosa! Bucaneve Crochi!

Let me summarize the rules::

• swatch a nail polish with matte, satin, suede and textured / liquid sand / sugar without glitter finish
• create a nail art that contains at least one finish listed above

As usual I chose the latter...I hope you like it because the challenge has been hard!
The today theme, in fact, proposed by Sara, is just ... the winter garden!
I then started wondering what the heck we could have in a garden during the winter.

• The snow. Yes ok .. but just a withe base is not a nail art at all! 
• Dry twigs. I do not think it's appropriate. 
• Weeds? Forget it.
•  Trees without leaves? ... already better but no ... that's what! Snowdrops Crocuses !

Mi sono quindi armata di:

• Orly White Out (base)
• Essence Soft Touch (per opacizzare la base e fare l'effetto neve)
• Colori acrilici
• Passatina di Seche Vite solo sui disegni

Ed ecco qua, spero che il risultato vi piaccia!

I used:

• Orly White Out (base)
• Essence Soft Touch (to give a matte effect to the base: the snow)
• Acrylic colors
• A touch of Seche Vite only on drawings
