Tribute Nail Art Challenge Episode 1

Buon lunedì!
Con questo post sono lieta di dare inizio ad una twinsie studiata insieme alla mia amica Aly: ogni primo lunedì del mese dedicheremo un tributo alla creazione di una nail artist che ci ha colpito con la sua bravura ed originalità.
La twinsie - guarda tu il caso- si chiama appunto “Tribute” e ci vedrà affiancate nell’intento di emulare ogni mese una nail art diversa... aggiungendo un tocco personale, inevitabilmente!

With this post I am pleased to introduce a twinsie planned with my friend  Aly: every first Monday of the month we will dedicate a tribute to the creation of a nail artist who impressed us with her skill and originality.
The twinsie - strangely enough - is called "Tribute" and it will see us side by side trying to emulate a different nail art each month ... always adding a personal touch, of course!

Per la prima puntata abbiamo scelto una vecchia opera della bravissima Lex del blog Storm And Stars con le sue chevron su gradiente nei toni del tramonto (la trovate anche su IG).
Ecco la mia versione!
Come vedete ho usato una tecnica un pò diversa da quella della nail art originale: ho creato prima il gradient e poi  ho applicato i chevron con uno stamping furbo. E' più forte di me: cerco sempre delle scorciatoie! Spero che la mia versione vi piaccia comunque ecco qualche altra foto:

For the first episode we chose an old work by the very talented nail artist Lex from the blog Storm And Stars: chevrons on a gradient in the shades of sunset (you can find her also on IG).
Here is my tribute version!
As you can see I used a technique a bit different from the original nail art: I created the gradient and I used it as base for a stamping with chevrons pattern. It's stronger than me: I'm always looking for shortcuts! I hope you like my version anyway, you can find below are some other photos:

Bentornati al nostro appuntamento con gli smalti e con la musica: Dark Winter Songs!
Oggi parliamo del Folk e vi prego di permettermi una licenza... sì perchè non conoscendo benissimo il genere ho voluto orientarmi sul Folk Metal e su uno dei gruppi che mi piacciono di più: i Mago De Oz.
Questo gruppo spagnolo nato alla fine degli anni ottanta è caratterizzato dai ritmi allegri e dai ritornelli orecchiabili... l'album e la canzone che condivido oggi è ispirata al personaggio di Don Chisciotte e mi è piaciuto talmente da indurmi a leggere il libro che narra le sue gesta!

Today we talk about the Folk and please allow me a license ... yes because not knowing very well the genre I am going to move to Folk Metal and one of the groups that I like most: Mago De Oz.
This Spanish group formed in the late eighties is characterized by cheerful rhythms and catchy choruses ... the album and the song that I share today is inspired by the character of Don Quixote and I liked so to induce me to read the book that tells his deeds!

[Enjoy Autumn] Episode 6: Pumpkins

Lo so che Halloween era ieri, ma in effetti queste unghie le ho sfoggiate proprio ieri sera... ed erano davvero appropriate per la puntata dedicata alle zucche!
I know that Halloween is already passed, but this nail art was perfect for the episode dedicated to the Pumpkins, wasn't it?

Mi sono divertita tanto a creare questa nail art, peccato che l'effetto finale non mi abbia soddisfatta del tutto... soprattutto per quanto riguarda la pulizia finale delle cuticole dopo il gradient! Dal vivo sembravano a posto, ma purtroppo la macro non perdona! Spero che voi invece sarete clementi....

I had a lot of fun making this nail art, but unfortunately I noticed too late that the clean up after the gradient wasn't that perfect... damn macro! In real life it seemed ok, I can assure you...

[Finishpedia] episode 24: Neon

Bentornate alla Finishpedia!
Nell'ultima puntata rendiamo omaggio ad uno dei finish più gettonati dell'estate: il Neon. Vediamo subito la definizione (dal sito di Lacquerized):

You could say neon describes color, not finish. But most neons do have a particular finish, very bright colors that often dry semi-matte.

Per l'occasione ho scelto due neon della Wycon (o Wjcon??) vediamo subito le foto.

Ero molto indecisa tra due nail art e alla fine, non sapendo scegliere.... le ho fatte tutte e due!
La prima è molto "sobria", come mio solito...
I was undecided between two nail art and at the end, not knowing which one to pick .... I made them both!
The first is very "sober", as my usual ...

 La seconda l'ho immaginata fin dal primo momento: partendo da una base bianca mi sono armata di spugnetta e...
I imagined the second one from the first moment: starting from a white base I armed myself with sponge and ...

Gradient with stamping to wish you an happy new year!

Eh lo so.... siamo quasi a befana. Ho disertato un pò il blog, ma una piccola pausa ci voleva proprio. L'altro motivo è che sto continuando a fare esperimenti con il Water Marble e non tutti sono presentabili. Ma non demordo!

Oh I know .... we are almost at the Epiphany. I deserted the blog a bit, but I needed just a little break. The other reason is that I am continuing to experiment with the Water Marble and not all the results are presentable. But I do not give up!

Oggi invece vi presento un cavallo di battaglia : un bel gradient che fa da sfondo ad uno stamping.

Today I present a warhorse: a nice gradient that is the background to a stamping.

E voi come avete trascorso queste feste? Vi siete riposati almeno un pò?

How do you have spent these holidays? Did you have rested at least a bit?

Inverse gradient (when the time is really short....)

A volte il tempo è scarso.
Ti ritrovi la sera, con lo smalto sciupato e tra mezz'ora sarebbe opportuno andarsene a letto.
Che fare?
Lasciare lo smalto sciupato? Giammai!
Rassegnarsi ad un'unghia nuda? ... mha...
Indossare un monocolore? Anche no!
E in questi casi avere un nutrito parco smalti non può che aiutare: sì perchè con gli smalti giusti è facile improvvisare una bella nail art in meno di venti minuti.

Sometimes time is short.
You find yourself in the evening, with nail polish ruined and in half an hour would be appropriate to go to bed.
What to do?
Leave the damaged polish? Never!
Resigned to naked nail ? ... Mha ...
Wear just one color? No!
And in these cases, have a large nail polish fleet can only help: yes because with the right polish is easy to improvise a beautiful nail art in less than twenty minutes.

Ecco come è nata questa manicure. Ho steso un bel nero e rosso one coater per poi andare a creare un gradient inverso con due magnifici holo.
Ma conosciamoli meglio:

Here is how this manicure born. I applied a beautiful one coater black and another one red;  then I went to create a reverse gradient with two magnificent holo.
But let's know them better:

Inutile dire che mi sono vestita proprio con questi toni: basta un pantalone nero e un bel maglione rosso e voilà! Minimo sforzo, massimo risultato.
Needless to say, I dressed up exactly with these tones: just black trousers and a nice red sweater and voila! Minimum effort, maximum results.

La nail art di oggi era da moltissimo tempo nella mia lista delle manicure da cui trarre ispirazione: è della bravissima autrice del blog Let Them Have Polish e si tratta di un gradient molto particolare impreziosito da glitter dorati.
This nail art was from a long time in my list of manicures for inspiration.
It is made by  the talented blogger from Let Them Have Polish and is a very special gradient embellished with golden glitter.

Per quanto riguarda anulare e mignolo, ho voluto sfoggiare il mio amatissimo indie con foglia d'oro; nonostante la base sia un blu scuro invece di un nero trovo il contrasto gradevole.

Il mio unico cruccio è stato quello di non avere gli stickers adatti per creare l'effetto mezzaluna: mi sono arrangiata con quello che passava il convento e purtroppo le linee sono risultate un po' irregolari.

Regarding ring and little fingers, I wanted to show off my beloved indie with gold leaf; even though the base is a dark blue instead of black I find it a pleasing contrast.
My only regret was not to have stickers suitable to create the half moon effect, so unfortunately the lines were a bit 'irregular.

Fall Nail Art : Migratory Birds

Hello!
A special post today: I would like to share with you the nail art that I made to join the really interesting initiative of Meghan from Will Paint Nails For food blog.

I wanted to do something related to fall but somehow different from what I'm used to see around (that is basically a 'fall leaves' theme). I started thinking and then I thought about the beautiful silhouette of birds perched on wires.

To be honest I'm not 100% satisfied about the result but... today is the last day to participate and I wanted to be in!

So... that's it. I hope you can enjoy it, even if it is not perfect.

Dancing in September Contest

Ed eccomi qui anche io a partecipare al fantastico contest indetto da Gold Francine: mi sa che sono riuscita a rientrarci proprio per un pelo eh!

Premetto che come genere musicale dei 'Earth, Wind and Fire' non è esattamente nelle mie corde quindi, più che ascoltare la canzone in sè io mi sono rifatta al testo, cercando di riprodurre con la nail art tutti i passaggi salienti.

Ho preparato l'immagine sotto proprio per illustrare come io abbia applicato questo concetto!

And here I am to take part in amazing contest organized by Gold Francine: I know that I was able to attend at the really last moment!

Premise that as the musical genre of 'Earth, Wind and Fire' is not exactly in my comfort zone so, rather than listen to the song itself, I have read the text, trying to play with the nail art highlighting all the salient points.

I prepared the image below just to illustrate how I have applied this concept!

Per come me la sono immaginata io, questa canzone parla di due persone che si stanno innamorando, danzando in una serata di fine settembre. Ed è quello che ho cercato di riprodurre nella mia nali art. Quindi, ricapitolando:

• danzatori
• musica
• serata con stelline che fanno capolino
• settembre
• cielo blu sfumato
• molto molto ammmmmore

Dopo questo delirio, lascerei la parola alle foto:

By the way in which I imagined it, this song is about two people who are falling in love, dancing in an evening at the end of September. And that's what I tried to reproduce in my nal art. So, in summary:

• dancers

• evening with stars that peek

• gradient blue sky
• tons of love

[EuRoPe] episode 1 - Italy

Avete salutato l'estate come meritava? ... sì? Ehm... spero niente gesto dell'ombrello anche se è stata un briciolino impietosa!

Ad ogni modo adesso si ricomincia, stagione nuova, vita nuova, clima nuovo (si spera) ma soprattutto nuovo appuntamento.

Sì, perché quella vulcanica fanciulla che risponde al nick name di Gold Francine questo autunno ci ha proposto una gita a zonzo per l'Europa. E ovviamente non potevo che accettare.

Le regole sono semplici: 13 settimane di autunno, equivalgono a 13 appuntamenti con gli stati europei (più quello bonus di oggi); sì lo so che gli stati europei sarebbero 28, però credo che due appuntamenti la settimana ci avrebbero ucciso! :-D

L'appuntamento di oggi è un pò il punto di partenza della gita, ed infatti è dedicato al nostro paese natale. Sicuramente non vincerò un premio per l'originalità, ma ecco il mio modesto contributo.

Did you say goodbye to the summer?

From today, new season, new life, new weather (hopefully), but especially new appointment.

Yes, because that volcanic girl called Gold Francine this fall has proposed a trip wandering through Europe. And of course I accepted!

The rules are simple: 13 weeks of autumn, equivalent to 13 appointments with European states (plus the bonus of today); yes I know that the European states would be 28, but I think that two appointments each week would kill us! :-D

Today's event is kinda the point of departure of the tour, and in fact is dedicated to our hometown. Definitely I will not win a prize for originality, but here's my modest contribution.
